Women's health is a fast growing sub-specialty area of physiotherapy. In this field, we are fortunate to have access to many incredible courses. Courses ranging from the short and general; perfect for areas of interest we might like to dip our toe into, through to longer more advanced practices and complex workshops.

I began Ivoryrose as a solo practitioner, and in just 6 years I have grown my practice to a team of 20 staff. I credit this success to the good fortune of starting my career under the mentorship of some incredible women's health physiotherapists. They generously shared their knowledge, skills and experience which gave me the confidence to take a leap and begin my own clinic.

Having access to amazing leaders in our field and an expert level of knowledge and experience at my fingertips, (in addition to enrolling and devouring an enormous amount of professional development courses), expedited my own growth, knowledge and development in the field of Women's Health.

Experiencing first hand the benefits of being mentored, shaped a core belief: that shared knowledge, guidance and having a trusted mentor is enormously beneficial for anyone who wishes to break into this field.

The shaping of this core belief, sparked a passion to educate and mentor other physiotherapists as they navigate the steep learning curve of Women's Health and pelvic floor dysfunction. This passion ultimately led to the growth and hiring of our team at Ivoryrose.

Over the past few years, I have had a number of physiotherapists reach out and request professional support and mentorship; particularly those who are coming into this field as sole practitioners or within a musculoskeletal setting.

Between two babies and growing our team at Ivoryrose, I have lacked the time needed to mentor any physiotherapists outside of our Adelaide-based practice. But, I am excited to say this year - that is changing.

Teaching and helping other physios nourish their passion for women's health is something I truly love and cannot wait to share.

Knowing the impact of mentorship and how it positively influenced my own professional development and that of my team, has led to the development of Ivoryrose Mentoring Opportunities something we are proud to offer from 2023 and beyond.
